Being ready for corporate sales as a social entrepreneur

I remember before we'd made our first corporate sale as social entrepreneurs, we kept asking ourselves...

Can we really do this? Can we sell our offer for £12k a year?

Will anyone take us seriously?

Will anyone buy our programme at this price?

Are we crazy to think we can make this work with a trading income?

We'd literally never sold anything before (either of us).

We didn’t know the market. We had no examples or role models of others doing what we were doing (everyone else was reliant on grant funding and sponsorship but we didn’t want that). And we were new to delivering the programme.

But we did it. We made our first £12k sale with a corporate. Two twenty somethings with no sales experience, no experience working in corporate, no real idea why a corporate would be interested in what we had to offer.

But we believed it might be possible.

We believed in our offer, the value we could bring and the difference we could make together with corporate clients.

We knew where we wanted to go and were willing to show up and share our vision even though it felt a little wild, a little crazy and a little out there.

Our belief, ambition for change and willingness to get a little uncomfortable meant we secured our first paying corporate client. Seven years on we are still successfully securing corporate clients to support our social impact programme with 11-14 year olds.

And friend it's totally possible for you too.

There are no rules to how much you can earn in your first sale (or launch).

You don't have to do it incrementally.

You don't have to be anything more than you are right now.

You just have to believe in your own offer and communicate how this will help meet their (your clients) objectives, needs or desires.

You don't have to do it for free first.

You don't have to discount your prices because you've never done it before.

You don't have to get funding to get started. There is another way.

You can sell your knowledge, expertise and services to corporates and generate the income you need for your social enterprise or social impact initiative.

Doors are opening to my Sell to Corporate course soon, if you're a service based social enterprise interested to learn how to generate over £10,000 from corporate clients for what you're already doing check out all the details here.
