#13 The true value of social entrepreneurship

See this content in the original post

Social entrepreneurship isn’t just about doing good in the world. It’s about doing the right thing. It’s about changing the status quo. It’s about challenging deeply entrenched norms, power dynamics and misguided truths which serve a minority of people. Social entrepreneurship is new and emerging. It is not one type of business model.

And yet time and time again I hear social entrepreneurs falling in to narratives that would assume it's one type of model, one type of solution, one trajectory, one reality.

And all too often this narrative is around believing services have to be offered for free or below market rate; that people won't pay for the services provided and that it's not possible to create a viable trading income as social enterprise, let alone a profit.

Well as someone who has experienced differently what is possible as a social entrepreneur and has a different narrative I thought it was about time I shared it here on the podcast.

So in this episode I'm sharing part of day 2 of my three day training: Pricing for Profit, and sharing exactly what the true value of social entrepreneurship is, why we must recognise this as social entrepreneurs and how to start believing in the true value you bring as a social entrepreneur.
