Measuring your social impact


As a purpose driven business owner you know the importance of demonstrating the difference you say you exist for, but you struggle with deciding what to actually measure and how.

I provide a bespoke service to social enterprises and purpose-driven business owners so they can measure and demonstrate their impact in a way that’s appropriate to the size of their organisation and the scale of their impact.

This includes everything from a 90 minute strategy session to plan out your theory of change (ideal for micro-businesses or those just getting started) to full service delivery of the whole impact measurement process (for larger, more established social enterprises and community businesses) which might take a couple of months.

Before starting to work together we’d explore exactly which parts of the following process you really need help with:

  1. Deciding what impact to prioritise by exploring your purpose and business goals, as well as understanding why you want to measure your impact now and who for

  2. Creating a Theory of Change - a kind of outline of the impact you intend to create and how, as well as a tool to plan how to track and measure your impact

  3. Deciding on how you’ll actually measure the impact and embed this within your operations

  4. Sometimes actually doing the data collection for you and analysing that for a report

  5. Deciding what to put in your report, and how to structure it

  6. Ideas on design, and other ways to communicate your impact that’s not just in a report

  7. Exploring the best way to disseminate your impact and mapping who needs to know about it

  8. Reviewing the process so you can sustain it! (Usually separately or a little while after the above)


This service is bespoke and depends on your specific needs as an organisation or entrepreneur. So I recommend we jump on a call to discuss what you need.

There are options depending on your budget:

  • A 90 minute social impact strategy session at £297

  • Done-in-a-day Theory of Change/Impact Strategy or Social Impact Report, at £750. We’ll together for a day either designing your Theory of Change or creating your Social Impact Report, perfect for smaller social enterprises ready to start measuring their social impact or creating their first social impact report.

  • I also provide longer term support to larger organisations (e.g. a number of days over 2-3 months) wanting support for their social impact strategy, or creating their first social impact report.
