How to get started selling to corporates

It is one of the things I am most passionate - helping social entrepreneurs scale their income so they can deliver more incredible social and environmental impact.

But if, like me 7 years ago, you don’t have experience of working in corporates; don’t have any links to anyone in corporate and have never sold anything to corporates before how do you get started?

How to get started selling to corporates as a social entrepreneur….

  1. Create your offer

    I recommend you start out with juts one simple offer, something you can really get behind and excel in selling, it’s what you become known for in your niche. Don’t confuse people by having a lot of different offers, know what your audience wants and needs and provide something that meets this or provides a solution in a unique and innovative way.

    What is there want/need/desire? What are the benefits and features of your offer? How much does it cost? Are there different options? Why are you the best person / organisation to deliver this?

  2. Update your LinkedIn profile, and position yourself as the expert that you are

    LinkedIn is a great way to a) find out what you target audience might want or need b) discover exactly who your target audience is and c) connect with your target audience so they invite you in for a meeting.

    What are you posting and sharing on Linkedin? Is it relevant to what you do? Does it make you look like an authority / thought leader in your niche? Does it contribute to you ideal clients thinking around what they want/need? No? then start writing.

  3. Start sharing your offer, make connections and speak to people

    You don’t need to have everything perfect and completely finalised in your offer to start sharing it, you and how you help people / organisations. If you really want to start generating income from selling to corportaes you have to start talking to people about why you do what you do, what you provide and how this will help them.

    So share your offer. Get connected. Think about all the opportunities you could get in front of your target audience.
